are people who divorce. Divorce itself is both a cause and
an effect. There are many factors that contribute to
divorce, such as lack of money, drug and/or alcohol abuse,
immaturity of one or both parties, sexual indiscretion,
the ease of getting a divorce, and various others. Free 1

Dropout
Rates: Differences in Culture and Gender
[ send
me this paper ]
A 5 page overview of dropout rates and the factors which
influenced them. Provides statistics for the differences
in dropout rates between the sexes emphasizing that with
one exception, that of Hispanics where overall there are
fewer gender differences in the dropout rate, females are
more likely than males to complete high school and to
enroll in college. Notes that this observation is invalid
for some Hispanics groups in which females are actually
more likely to dropout. Suggest that high drop out rates
are the result of a number of factors including familial
responsibilities. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Education
/ Minority Community
[ send
me this paper ]
A 25 page research paper that looks at the literature on
lack of access to education for minority groups vs.
majority groups, specifically African American and Native
American, the cultural underpinnings of the issue, and
preventative and rehabilitative reform programs. The paper
posits that the educational community must make sweeping
changes in its approach to reform—the ideas and programs
for which have been available for decades. The reason for
the new immediacy is competition from the business
community because of its desire to diversify its
structure. Bibliography lists 20 sources.

Education
And Culture: Oppression
[ send
me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Education is the key to freedom. As
succinct as this statement may be, it holds within its
brevity the singular ability to emancipate oppression and
improve dire economic situations. According to Paulo
Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed, education – or
rather the lack there of – has long stood in the way of
cultural progress, inasmuch as the access to academic
learning has forever been restricted to certain social
classes. An example of the practices described in Freire's
book is that of Peter Hoeg's Borderliners, which follows
the lives of three social misfits who find themselves
living amidst an entirely different class of orphans,
causing them to speculate as to the reason they were all
assembled in such an obviously educationally imbalanced
environment. No additional sources cited.
